How To Remove Old Wheel Weights

If yours alloy wheels don’t leave you a lot of access to put your hand through the spokes then you’re going to have to remove your wheel. This will make the job of removing the old wheel weight easier but removing the wheel can sometimes be a pain.

Carefully prise the old wheel weight off the wheel, don’t worried about the glue been left behind. If you wrap a thin rag around a butter knife or screw driver this will be the easiest way to remove the wheel weight without damaging your alloy wheel.

Ok were now on to the awful glue that is left behind, if you’ve taken the wheel of use a hair dryer to heat the glue up and it will peel off a lot easier. If you still have the wheel on then try and soak the glue in some Tar & Glue Remover.

I have found the best way to remove the glue is not to try and peel it, but to try and roll it from the longest length side from the outer to inner of the Alloy.
